Precor, Inc., a manufacturer of high-end fitness equipment, had outgrown its Strength Division facilities in California. Instead of relocating on the west coast, Precor decided to look closer to its vast East Coast customer base and have better distribution outlets to Europe. After a multi-state search primarily in the Southeast United States, Precor settled on North Carolina and Rock Creek Center.

Precor wanted a 239,000 square foot state-of-the-art manufacturing facility for its commercial strength equipment line. This design would include a cross-docked configuration for optimal flow as well as 25,000 SF of divisional headquarters office space. Precor also wanted to follow LEED building standards to achieve a LEED certified “green” building. The timeline for completion was very aggressive.

Rock Creek Center and its developer, Simpson Schulman & Beard, delivered exactly what the customer requested. Precor’s strength division is currently operating in its new 239,500 sf facility located in Rock Creek Center. We are also proud to have achieved LEED Gold status for the office interior up fit. This project was achieved on time and under budget. 9 months from start to finish! And this was done after losing 46 days due to weather.

Precor chose Rock Creek Center, located along the Interstate 85 corridor, for its central proximity on the East Coast, excellent access to international ports for export and the availability of skilled workforce for manufacturing. Precor also cites the superior workforce training available at Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC) for their decision to locate in Rock Creek Center.

Your company can achieve the same results. Consider Rock Creek Center for your new facility. We are committed to assisting you in achieving your goals of success.
